What is a Leadership Statement?

At Soracom, we have a foundational way of thinking about how to proceed with matters and how to act. We call this our Leadership Statement, which is composed of 15 statements. It serves as a guideline for "how we should work" and "what ideal leadership is," and is something we value highly at Soracom.

All members of Soracom are leaders, and based on the following Leadership Statements, they think, discuss, and practice. By continuously receiving feedback from those around them and improving, they exhibit leadership, grow the business with their team, and nurture the next leaders.

The 15 Leadership Statements

  • Customer Centric

Think from the customer's perspective - Listen to the customer's voice, understand their true needs, and reflect it in our services. Do not be confined by competitors' actions.

  • Proactive

Positively envision the future - Believe that you and your team can change the future for the better, owning it. Act by thinking about what you can do now without blaming others.

  • Just Do It

Try it out first - Prioritize appropriate quality and speed over always aiming for 100%. Take calculated risks and learn from them, even if they fail.

  • Kaizen

Improve continuously - In all tasks, create surplus through onsite improvements and tackle new things. Do not get caught up in minor details; always be aware of what is lacking for fundamental change.

  • Think Without Boundaries

Think outside the box - Look at things from a wide perspective without being confined by existing constraints or organizations, solve bigger problems, and create innovation.

  • Dive Deep

Pay attention to details - Be passionate about your work and get hands-on. To understand the essence and principle, do not rely solely on intuition but verify with data for decision-making.

  • Respectfully Disagree, and Commit once agreed

Disagree with respect - Voice opinions for the sake of everyone and follow the team's final decision once made.

  • Emotionally Mature

Have a rich heart - Act understanding the importance of the team's emotions and mood, enhancing team motivation. Be introspective, not hesitating to speak about your weaknesses and mistakes, not dominated by temporary negative emotions.

  • Connected Trust

Cherish trust relationships - Always respect others, earn trust through responsible work. Build trust over time, connecting people.

  • Be Right A Lot

Continue to make correct judgments - Quickly make judgments based on conscience and good sense. Listen to diverse opinions and do not hesitate to correct your own. If you cannot adapt to changing situations, you cannot continue to be right.

  • Likability

Be someone it's enjoyable to work with - Never forget humor, empowering those around you. Act appropriately as a member supporting a fair and open platform business.

  • Avoid Muda

Eliminate waste - Spend time and money on essential things. Reduce operational costs and give back to customers.

  • Develop Dream Team

Create the best team - Always select the best talent, never lowering recruitment standards. Emphasize challenges and development, enhancing team strength.

  • Share Everything You Can

Share both the good and the bad - Share information across the team, doubling the joy and halving the sorrow. Conduct fact-based transparent communication across the team, not creating silos.

  • Deliver Results

Produce outcomes - Persistently strive toward achieving goals, seek help as needed, and see things through to the end.
